Texas Luxury: Priciest Home on Market Listed at $34.5 Million

Listed at $34.5 million, a recently constructed home just outside Dallas features a “luggage room” and stands as one of the most expensive properties for sale in Texas.

Situated in the upscale community of Highland Park, approximately 2 miles away from downtown Dallas, this estate features a primary residence spanning around 13,700 square feet. Above the garage, there is a separate guest suite equipped with a bedroom and a small kitchen area.

Developer Blair Pogue, who owns Blantyre Homes, was raised nearby. In 2021, he purchased the property for slightly less than $9 million and tore down the previous residence, according to him. Construction began on the Spanish Revival-style house in 2022.

Pogue selected the location since “it’s extremely exclusive with very few houses,” he explained. “When you construct top-notch quality, you can be sure it will sell.”

The five-bedroom main residence features Mediterranean-inspired elements throughout, including a gym, several bar areas, and a wine vault. The master suite occupies the ground level and includes a lounge area along with two walk-in wardrobes; the bigger one measures approximately 360 square feet. According to Pogue, he included an additional baggage storage room linked to these closets for more convenient use during travel preparations. “This was something I really disliked,” he explained. “Moreover, suitcases tend to occupy unnecessary space, typically cluttering up the bedroom wardrobe.”

Pogue particularly loves the front-facing bedroom situated above the foyer, boasting approximately 16-foot-high barrel vault ceilings. “It feels like a tower,” he commented.

Douglas Newby from Newby & Associates mentioned that Highland Park boasts some of the priciest properties in Texas. He noted that earlier this year, a house with an area of about 10,000 square feet was sold after being listed at $19.995 million. Currently, another residence spanning approximately 20,500 square feet is up for sale at $36.5 million.
