Students Dive into Summer Reading at Camp Read A Lot in Luzerne County

Students in Luzerne County took to the woods on Wednesday to share their love of reading.

Northwest Area Primary School in Huntington Township is hosting Camp Read A Lot, a reading program complete with tents, lanterns, and a campfire in the school’s library.

A few furry creatures also made an appearance, as Pocono Wildlife brought along some owls for the students to meet.

“We do it because you’re after year. The kids just get so excited to come in here and be able to read and to just unplug from all of their technology and just put a book in their hand, and they just love the idea of being able to go on each tent and read different books every day,” said Ember Hasay, Northwest Area Primary School Reading Specialist.

Camp Read A Lot continues Thursday in
