Long Beach Woman Scores New Temecula Home in Pechanga Resort Casino Giveaway

A woman from Long Beach was awarded a new house in Temecula after participating in a contest at the Pechanga Resort Casino, according to an announcement made by casino representatives on Saturday.

The victor, whom the casino recognized solely as Mayra V., a labor union advocate for healthcare workers tending to seniors statewide, claimed the house following her involvement in Pechanga’s Home Sweet Win! promotion held on Friday.

From March through May, the Pechanga Resort Casino offered Rewards Club members an opportunity to win and relocate into a newly built house by Meritage Homes. Mayra was among the 20 Pechanga finalists chosen to take part in the Home Sweet Win! finale, which was overseen by Ty Pennington.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom house occupies a substantial corner plot, as stated by casino representatives, and is nestled amidst upscale recreational facilities within the Prado neighborhood. This standalone family residence boasts an expansive, modern layout, a gourmet-ready kitchen, eco-friendly design elements, complete with Whirlpool appliances, blinds for windows, and generous outdoor areas. Within this community, residents can enjoy various leisure options such as swimming pools, clubhouses, barbecue pits, covered picnic spots, and playgrounds.

Mayra, who is both a single mother and a grandmother, informed Pechanga personnel that she has never owned a home herself. She plans to move in at the earliest opportunity so she can start creating new family moments with her three grown-up daughters and their children.

In the Home Sweet Win! promotion, two runners-up were awarded $25,000 in cash each.

Pechanga officials declared on Friday that “Home Sweet Win!” will return in 2026, with Ty Pennington set to resume his role as host.

Along with the house giveaway, Pechanga provided $50,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles to assist them in their reconstruction activities after the severe wildfires in January.
