Kilgore Recycling Center: Now Open for Business!

Kilgore, Texas (KLTV) – The Northeast Texas Regional Materials Recovery Facility has officially opened in Kilgore.

The recycling firm takes materials that can be repurposed such as categorized cardboard, paper, plastic containers, along with aluminum and steel cans.

Todd Lucas, who holds the position of facilities general manager, mentioned that they anticipate receiving multiple shipments from Longview over the coming one or two weeks.

“As Lucas explained, people should consider this: By placing cardboard and paper in their recycling bins instead of their garbage cans, they prevent these materials from ending up in landfills where they would gradually break down. Instead, the recycled items will help sustain jobs at our facility.”

Lucas mentioned he intended to alleviate any worries expressed by individuals who might be uncertain about the fate of materials submitted for recycling.

I believe that many years back, folks were uncertain about what was occurring with their recyclables,” Lucas explained. “The cardboard visible behind me gets repurposed into additional linerboard, which then goes towards producing new cardboard. Thus, this process is quite tangible and takes place just within our local area.
