I must admit, I can’t help but pause for anything sparkling and shining, yet I didn’t anticipate being completely captivated while viewing Kate Hudson’s kitchen tour on Instagram. During the video, Hudson and her son unpack wildfire relief merchandise.

, a nearby skate shop that was devastated by the Palisades wildfire. The footage is quite moving, however, I have to admit that my attention was also caught by the display of copper cooking utensils hanging over the kitchen island.
Instead of typical lighting fixtures, Hudson has placed a brass pot rack filled with shiny copper cooking utensils. This look is classic—copper cookware has adorned kitchen spaces in much the same way for centuries—and adds a warm touch to the area. Additionally, these highly reflective surfaces eliminate the need for additional illumination.
Reviewing old photos taken within Hudson’s kitchen reveals that items such as these pots and pans (including a gleaming copper watering can) appear to be purely decorative due to their immaculate condition. However, you could also achieve this aesthetic by incorporating more cost-effective yet functional copper elements. Suspending your cooking utensils from a hanging pot rack is particularly advantageous when storage cabinets are scarce.
