England is experiencing one of the drier starts to spring in recent decades, and as extreme weather becomes increasingly typical,
Several gardens at the festival are investigating what shape that future might take.

Not every garden conveys a message, though. BBC
Gardeners’ World
presenter Monty Don
has initiated his inaugural – and, as he states, “I pray my final” – garden display at the event centered around his cherished canines.

This dog-loving design incorporates elements for our four-legged companions, featuring an area of grass to run around on, water sources for them to cool off in, and trees providing shelter from the sun, along with flora like foxgloves and alliums.

“I wanted to visit a garden at Chelsea that had no particular message, wasn’t placed in an exotic setting, but was squarely situated in 2025 in England and filled with plants that I possess or anyone could easily purchase from their neighborhood garden center. It would also include trees or shrubs that are indigenous or well-adapted to this country,” he explained.
